Yasmin Best is a partner at FROST LLP. A former federal prosecutor, she has a singular understanding of white collar defense, investigations, government enforcement, and compliance through her experience as senior in – house counsel and outside counsel for investigations at major law firms. Where possible, given her experience with scenarios that have reached a crisis point, Best emphasizes prevention and risk mitigation for clients through the development of robust compliance programs.
For nearly a decade, Best was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois handling significant criminal matters including fraud, financial crime, and narcotics. She has notable first-chair trial experience as a prosecutor, litigator, and appellate attorney, and years of complementary experience in the white collar and investigations divisions of major law firms. Best has traveled the world conducting internal investigations and independent reviews, first as an associate at Latham & Watkins and later as a partner at Faegre Drinker. Prior to joining FROST, she was Senior Counsel, Ethics and Legal Compliance at Intel Corporation, where she led worldwide internal investigations and contributed her considerable knowledge to in-house compliance.
Best holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She is licensed to practice law in California. Best is admitted before the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, and Southern Districts of California.
Outside of work, Best enjoys outdoor pursuits and serves on the board of the National Park Trust.
