Lawrence Liu is an experienced litigator and dynamic advocate for global businesses in emerging and established industries ranging from cannabis and cryptocurrency to health care and tech. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Liu has represented clients from mainland China, Taiwan, Canada, and the United States in commercial, corporate, class action, and intellectual property disputes in state and federal courts. In addition to successfully guiding civil cases from inception through trial and counseling on legal compliance and risk issues, Liu provides private arbitration and mediation services to select clients.

Liu graduated from the UC Irvine School of Law (UCI Law). As a young attorney he built a broad base of legal knowledge, working at the UCI International Justice Clinic under a former United Nations Special Rapporteur where he focused on freedom of opinion and expression. Liu also clerked for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office (Housing Division), and the Office of the California Attorney General (Criminal Justice Division). As an active member of the UCI Law community, he was involved in the UC Irvine Law Review, the Moot Court Competitions Board, and co-founded the UCI Law Business Law Society.

Originally from New York, Liu spends his spare time on active pursuits–hiking, practicing mixed martial arts including Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and following his beloved New York Knicks.
