Laura Martinez is managing partner at FROST LLP in Phoenix. An experienced trial and appellate litigator, Laura applies courtroom skills developed during her years as an assistant attorney general for the Department of Child Safety. She is a strong advocate for her clients with her combined legal writing, analysis, strategy, and trial knowledge.
In her practice at FROST LLP, Laura represents businesses, individuals, and government entities in state and federal court in commercial litigation across construction, real estate, employment, and probate litigation among other areas.
Laura formerly practiced law in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and later, with Maricopa County’s Office of the Public Advocate. During her five years with the government, she gained invaluable courtroom and trial experience, participating in hearings on a near-daily basis and conducting trials, on average, one to two times a month. Laura transitioned to private practice in 2019, where she has focused on complex business litigation, probate litigation, and appellate work, presenting and participating in arguments before both the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court that resulted in published opinions.
Prior to obtaining her law degree, Laura’s educational background was in science and she made a significant contribution to her field of study. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Arizona, where she helped lead research regarding genetic anomalies associated with prostate cancer. Laura was a co-author of the resulting article in a scientific journal. She later earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. While attending law school, Laura was a faculty fellow for the school’s estate planning professor, served as president of the Health Law Society, and participated in the Civil Litigation Clinic. She also interned at the district attorney’s office, where she conducted some of her first trials. Laura is licensed to practice law in Arizona.
Laura enjoys spending her free time with her family, traveling, reading, and crafting, whether it be painting, drawing, or crocheting.
