Catherine Liu is a partner at FROST LLP. She is a versatile and diligent litigator who has built a broad complex business litigation practice over 20 years, representing clients in finance, real estate, entertainment, and beyond. Adapting her approach on each matter to suit client goals, Catherine is results-focused and blends relentless courtroom advocacy with client needs.

Catherine’s experience ranges from transactional matters to litigation avoidance counseling for businesses to handling all facets of large-scale business litigation matters in state and federal court. Her practice emphasizes complex business disputes, torts, labor and employment, civil rights, and real property disputes. Over her career, she has represented lenders, investors, and financial institutions in real estate and finance transactions including real estate loan documentation, maximizing collection on defaulted loans, commercial acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. She has also handled consumer fraud, product liability, construction defect, premises liability, and business tort claims.

Early in her career, Catherine practiced criminal and civil rights law and was engaged in high-profile matters including some of the most significant police misconduct cases in the city of Los Angeles. Motivated by her involvement in these matters, Catherine has built a diverse practice where she applies her legal knowledge to broad legal advisory and litigation work. With extensive litigation experience at both BigLaw and boutique law firms, she was previously a litigator with the LA-based firm Weintraub Zolkin Talerico & Liu and international firms McKenna, Long & Aldridge (now Dentons) and Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. She is licensed to practice law in California and is fluent in Mandarin. Catherine is also a California real estate broker.

Outside of the courtroom, Catherine can be found traveling to explore national parks, scenic routes, small towns, and local cultures.
